Getting Set Up
Create a new account (hourly billing or project) for a client
Add a new billing account under an existing client for hourly billing or projects.
Create a new account (hourly billing or project) for a client
Each client can have one or more accounts to separate billing streams.
Steps
- Go to Client Accounts
- Find the relevant client in the database.
- Select “Add Account”
- Choose the Client this account belongs to.
- Enter an Account Name that describes the workstream (e.g. “Corporate Projects 2025”).
- Fill out account details
- Type: Hourly billing or Project.
- Status: Active / Inactive – controls visibility on the Time Tracking page.
- Category: e.g. Legal Services or Financial Services.
- Primary Lead / Secondary Lead: who manages or delivers the work.
- Engagement Letter Date: date of formal approval.
- Profit Share: if the work qualifies for internal incentive tracking.
- Contacts: list key people at the client (this is for internal reference only).
- Save the account
Once saved, the account is available on the Time Tracking page and in Hourly billing / Projects sections.
Tips
- Use clear, client-friendly account names.
- Don’t add “R” or “P” to codes — account type now defines that automatically.
- Inactive accounts remain stored but hidden from active tracking.
